Journey

I saw a Louis Vuitton ad today on YouTube that talks about a journey.  That a journey is not a trip, but more a discovery of self.  Of learning about how the world works and how we fit in it.  I immediately thought about my own personal self-discovery and the process.

I am exhausted - but I'm happy.  Today I went to a kick boxing class, found out that a family friend has past away, I spoke to my Dad, I got my first paycheck with my new job and I think I'm getting whatever sickness my husband just had (so battling this out with a lot of vitamin C, Zinc, tea and whatever else pre-sickies can use to not get sick).   Oh, and I found out a friend of mine is having a baby!  That's number 4 of my friends who are pregnant right now.  (Including my sister-in-law, Lindsay.)  That's right.  I'm going to be an aunt!

For those who know me - this was a huge day on many levels.  I am filled with pride that I actually went to the gym when my muscles were already sore from yesterday.

I am so so sad for the family of Jan Francisco who has lost a wonderful wife, mother and a friend.  She was one of the most kind and selfless people I have ever met.  One of those women who truly want to know how you're doing and will stick around to hear what you have to say (good or bad).  She was loved by many and will be truly missed - but she is in heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ - and she is no longer in pain.  For those of us left behind who knew her - the world is a little less bright as God has called home one of his most lovely angels.
Dad...well, I'll have to write about him a little later.

It's interesting that on this "Journey," in the midst of sadness, I am filled with JOY.  It doesn't mean that I don't feel pain - but I feel reassured by God's promise to me that He will be with me always.  I know - it sounds like empty Christian rhetoric - but I am totally serious.  JOY is a pretty cool thing.

More to follow later....
